In the context of the Avenue of Community Service, for the current Rotary year, Rotary eClub of Greece, in collaboration with RCs Preveza, Chalandri and Psychiko, have designed and implemented a new program that offers unhindered access to visitors with mobility difficulties to museums and archaeological sites in Greece.
The program is called "Give the Gift of Access 1.0" and concerns the procurement and donation of wheelchairs that will meet the needs of visitors to museums and archaeological sites in our country.
The program is funded exclusively by resources of volunteer Rotarians and specifically by the Rotary Clubs eClub of Greece, Preveza, Chalandri and Psychiko.
The “Give the Gift of Access 1.0” program will benefit more than 14 museums, archaeological sites and monuments throughout Greece, specifically in the regions of Macedonia, Epirus, Peloponnese, Crete and Attica.
After a relevant survey on the level of visitor numbers and the needs of each institution, one to three wheelchairs will be donated to these sites to meet their needs.
The wheelchairs offered by Rotary Clubs are of a special type, certified and with the latest safety standards. Also, in some cases, they satisfy the special building needs and standards set by certain Museums.
