A Language Laboratory was set up at Karpaz Vocational High School within the scope of the Rotary International Foundation Global Grant Project.
The Language Laboratory project, which was set-up in 2024 by the project owner District 2452 Rotary Club of Kyrenia Liman and the international project partner District 2420 Rotary Club of Istanbul Barbaros Metropolitan for Karpaz Vocational High School and was recently completed and opened on 1 November 2024 with the participation of the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu.
Mehmetçik-Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu, the Director and representatives of the Ministry of National Education, Rotary Regional officials and club members who came from Cyprus and Turkey for this purpose attended the ceremony.
The D2420 District Governor Mehmet Altay, D2452 Past Deputy District Governor Tastan Altuner, major donors AKS Halis Mehmetoglu, MD Özcan Bundak, as well as Rotarian PDG Hasan Akbayrak, Yıldız Özalp, Çilem Maniga Vural and Deniz Özalp, and Işın Ramadan Cemil were presented with certificates of appreciation by the Minister of National Education Nazım Çavusoglu, Vocational and Technical Department Director Gülşen Hocanın and School Principal Cumali Avcı.
The project, which was prepared and presented to the Rotary International Foundation for Karpaz Vocational High School by Kyrenia Liman Rotary Club as a Global Grant Project and funded by Rotary, Rotaract clubs and donors in Cyprus and Turkey, was primarily created to contribute to the foreign language education of Karpaz Vocational High School students in the tourism region within the scope of their course curriculum.
The language laboratory has the infrastructure to support the foreign language needs of the local people when necessary. In his speech, Minister Çavuşoğlu thanked the Rotarians involved in the language laboratory project, which is a global grant service project, and noted Rotary’s unifying power beyond politics.
