As part of the "Solidarity for Lebanon" initiative organized by Rotary International in cooperation with CIP Belux–Liban and CIP Liban–Belux, a ceremony was held to deliver a batch of humanitarian aid to the Director General of Lebanese Civil Defense, Brigadier General Imad Khreish. The aid included medical supplies, hygiene materials, and equipment to support Civil Defense and the communities most in need.
The handover ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Sanaa Hamzeh, President of CIP Liban–Belux; His Excellency Walid Haidar, Ambassador of Lebanon to Belgium; Pierre-Louis Renard, First Secretary at the Embassy of Belgium; and Mr. Joe Kanaan, Honorary President of CIP Liban–Belux. It was also attended by a number of partners, supporters, and representatives from several Rotary clubs in Lebanon, including Rotary Club Akkar, represented by PP Mrs. Salma El Waraq.
Dr. Sanaa Hamzeh opened the meeting with a speech emphasizing the importance of continuing solidarity and humanitarian initiatives supporting Lebanon. Meanwhile, attendees stressed the value of cooperation, joining efforts, and strengthening partnership bridges between Lebanon and Belgium.
This initiative embodies Rotary's values of service, cooperation, and solidarity, reaffirming that when efforts unite, giving crosses borders to reach wherever the need is greatest.
