The work of the two-day conference organized by the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece in collaboration with the Municipality of Ilioupoli, following the initiative and support of CITY COOPERATION (among the associations involved is also RC Ilioupolis) was completed with great success.
The Conference, which was under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, had the theme TOMORROW: PROTECTION, MANAGEMENT & CONNECTION WITH SOCIETY and was held at the " Mikis Theodorakis " Town Hall of Ilioupoli on Saturday and Sunday, March 2 and 3, 2024.
During the conference it was highlighted the High Environmental Value of Ymittos, the special biodiversity of the protected area of Ymittos and the ways to protect the mountain.
It is imperative to strengthen Education towards the green with an orientation towards sustainable development and sustainability for a better connection of Ymittos with the Urban Green.
The conference was a top event for both Ilioupoli and Attica in general, with the participation of leading expert scientists from Greece and abroad who submitted their proposals for the future of our mountain, its protection, management and its connection with the society.
During the two-day Conference, many questions were submitted to the speakers by the delegates, in writing and orally, which showed the great interest of all those who attended the Conference.
