The Rotary Club of Amman Citadel proudly launched its “Vision of Hope” project at the Specialized Eye Hospital in Amman — with five patients receiving cataract surgeries on the very first day.
Light returns… and hope is renewed.
This project marks a very special milestone for the Club: its first Global Grant in nearly fifteen years.
As Club President Wesam Mohammad Al-Rashdan shared, it is “a dream that was once shared by generations of our club” finally becoming a reality.
PDG Bashar reflected on this important achievement, noting that a Global Grant “was once a dream shared by every president who led our club, and today it has become a reality.”
Funded through a Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation, with Rotary District 1830 as the international partner, Vision of Hope was made possible through the support and collaboration of the Rotary Clubs of Aalen-Heidenheim, Bietigheim-Vaihingen, Wertheim, Amman Jerash, and Amman Cosmopolitan, along with DGN Maher Al-Khaiyat.
Through the project, every eligible patient receives:
• Cataract surgery
• Three months of medical follow-up
• Post-operative medication
All at no cost to the patient.
Behind every surgery is more than restored vision. It is renewed independence, dignity, and hope.
Five surgeries on the first day — and many more lives waiting to see a brighter tomorrow.
