In October 2022, the Rotary Club of Mytilene honoured brothers George and Stylianos Kalfagiannis as major benefactors of the village of Filia on the island of Lesvos. They were recognised for their generous support in renovating the former Filia Primary School in 1981 and again in 2016, transforming it into a secondary school named "Kalfagiannio" (Kalfagiannis Secondary School).
In 2026, the Rotary Club of Edo Mérida, based in El Vigía, Venezuela, dedicated the month of October in its 2026 Rotary Calendar to George Kalfagiannis, highlighting the honorary awards and distinctions he and his family have received over the years.
The Kalfagiannis family has played a pivotal role in the development of El Vigía, establishing institutions of lasting importance to the community. Their contributions include founding the city's football club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the outdoor recreational club "Las Colinas."
Equally significant has been the family's longstanding philanthropic work, leaving a remarkable legacy through their selfless support of the city's Oncology Clinic, the Home for the Elderly, and the Women's Volunteer Association.
This rare recognition by two Rotary clubs, bestowed independently and years apart on different continents, reflects the universal values of service above self and the enduring impact of the Kalfagiannis family's commitment to education, community development, and humanitarian service.
