As part of fostering humanitarian solidarity and community partnership, the Rotary Club of Seef Bahrain presented a batch of modern automated insulin pumps during a meeting with H.E. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society. In the presence of Club President Mohamed Al Rayes, club members, and the society’s board of directors, the smart pumps were distributed directly to the children during the meeting to ensure they receive this advanced, life-changing technology.
This initiative comes as the fruitful outcome of the Charity Padel Tournament organized in collaboration with strategic partner De Padel. The full proceeds of the tournament were dedicated to procuring and providing these medical devices, made possible through the generous backing of sponsors and supporting organizations from the private sector.
These contributions reflect the spirit of corporate social responsibility and strong collaboration between civil society institutions and the private sector to safeguard children's health and assist families in need.
Smart insulin pumps represent a qualitative leap in pediatric healthcare. Delivering precise, continuous, and automated insulin around the clock according to the body's requirements spares young patients the pain of frequent daily injections and substantially lowers the risks of acute hypoglycemia or sudden spikes in blood sugar. Crucially, these devices offer children and their families greater safety, peace of mind, and the freedom to navigate daily life and schooling normally.
