On November 20th, at the Chalet Politeia restaurant, RC Kifissia Polite presented a Volunteerism Award to the important person and doctor, Director of Cardiology at the Athens General Hospital, Konstantinos Mercouri, for his voluntary work in Anogia, Crete. For twelve years now, every month the doctor has been examining the residents of the area free of charge.

In his excellent speech on "The logic of prevention" he said that he has examined more than 10,000 residents and many lives have been saved by this action.

Awards were also given for the work of the Athens General Hospital of Athens to Director Theofanis Roidis and Deputy Director Dimitris Papadakis, who support the voluntary work of doctor K. Mercouri, since doctors of other specialties visit Anogia for free examinations to the residents.

RC Kifissia Polite covered five doctors' overnight stays in August and September and intends to continue supporting this great work.
