Some achievements mark a moment in time. Others are intended to make a difference long after that moment has passed.

For Dr Agron S. Abrashi, a physician, humanitarian and Rotarian from Kosovo, joining the Arch Klumph Society represents more than personal recognition. It is a commitment to helping future generations access opportunities that might otherwise remain beyond their reach.

From 9 to 11 October 2026, Dr Abrashi participated in the official Arch Klumph Society induction programme at Rotary International Headquarters in Evanston, Illinois, alongside participants representing 17 countries.

The programme included meetings with Rotary leaders and visits to places connected with Rotary’s history, including the home of Paul and Jean Harris.

For Rotary District 2485 – Albania and Kosovo, the occasion marked an important milestone: Dr Abrashi is its first member of the Arch Klumph Society, and the first Rotarian from Kosovo to receive this distinction.

A Life Connecting Medicine and Service

Dr Abrashi’s commitment to helping others began long before this recognition.

Born and educated in Kosovo, he studied medicine at the University of Prishtina before moving to Switzerland in 1983, where he established a medical career.

His professional journey developed alongside a long-standing commitment to humanitarian assistance, particularly during and after the Kosovo crisis of 1999.

Over the years, he has supported initiatives in healthcare, education and community development, connecting people and organisations across national borders.

His Rotary journey reflects that same commitment.

As President of the Rotary Club of Gjakova in 2023–24, he supported membership development, community projects and preventive healthcare initiatives. His wider Rotary involvement has also included district leadership and international cooperation through Intercountry Committees.

Giving That Continues Beyond a Lifetime

The Arch Klumph Society, named after the sixth President of Rotary International and the founder of The Rotary Foundation, recognises donors whose cumulative contributions to the Foundation reach at least US$250,000.

Dr Abrashi has been recognised at the Trustees Circle level.

But the significance of his philanthropy lies not simply in the amount contributed.

As described in the September 2026 edition of the Zone 21B Public Image Monthly Journal, his commitment is rooted in the belief that generosity should continue creating opportunities year after year.

His philanthropic priorities place particular emphasis on maternal and child health, alongside education for young people, the wellbeing of women affected by breast cancer, care for older people and environmental protection.

These are not separate concerns. They reflect a common understanding that stronger communities begin when vulnerable people have better access to healthcare, education, dignity and opportunity.

By supporting The Rotary Foundation and its long-term capacity to fund sustainable programmes, Dr Abrashi is helping create possibilities for people he may never meet.

A child who receives better healthcare.

A young person whose education opens a new direction.

A family that finds support at a difficult moment.

These are the human outcomes that give philanthropy its lasting meaning.

A Milestone for District 2485 and Zone 21B

Dr Abrashi’s recognition is also an important moment for Rotary in Albania and Kosovo.

District 2485 is one of Rotary’s newer districts, officially established in July 2024. Its development reflects years of commitment by Rotarians who worked to build clubs, international relationships and opportunities for service across both countries.

The first Arch Klumph Society recognition from the district now adds another chapter to that story.

It demonstrates how an individual Rotarian’s commitment can strengthen the wider capacity of Rotary to serve communities and inspire others to contribute.

For Rotary Zone 21B, the achievement is a reason for appreciation and a reminder of the purpose behind The Rotary Foundation.

Its strength lies not only in the resources it receives, but in the people who choose to turn those resources into opportunities for others.

The Legacy That Matters

In September, the Zone 21B Public Image Monthly Journal introduced Dr Abrashi’s commitment and the values behind it.

The October ceremony in Evanston brought international recognition to that journey.

But the most important part of the story is still ahead.

It will be written through the programmes supported, the partnerships strengthened and the opportunities made possible in communities over the years to come.

Rotary Zone 21B warmly congratulates Dr Agron S. Abrashi on this historic recognition and expresses its appreciation for his commitment to The Rotary Foundation.

Because the true measure of generosity is not only what we give today, but what our giving makes possible tomorrow.
