The Rotary Boka Cruise, the annual summer fundraising event was organized by Rotary club of Kotor on July 22, 2023 with the aim to collect funds for the realization of the project of landscaping and installation of a public fountain near Gurdić and the southern entrance to the Old Town of Kotor, as one of the important locations in our city that is visited by a large number of tourists and citizens every day. The project is yet another activity of Kotor’s Rotarians for the benefit of the local community, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kotor and the Tourist Organization of Kotor. Through sponsorships, donations and participation in the prize lottery, the total amount of 7100 euros was raised during this event.
Over 170 guests and Rotarians enjoyed the sailing along the magnificent Boka Kotorska Bay on the tourist boat “Katica”, and had the unique opportunity to attend the traditional, over 500 years old, custom called “Fashinada” in town of Perast for the preservation and protection of the artificial island of Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rock).

The event was supported by the members of District 2483 Leadership Team - Bane Ranđelović, District trainer and Coordinator of Rotary Zone 21, Nikola Božić,IPDG, Veliša Stamatović, the DGE, and Deputy DG for Montenegro Srđan Grgić. Among the guests, the event was attended by Mr. Gregor Presker, ambassador of Slovenia in Montenegro,his wife Elvira Zlatić Presker, president of the International Women's Club, and Mr. Dušan Simonović, the president of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee.
Addressing the audience, Aleksandra Ivanović, president of Rotary club of Kotor Kotor, made an overview of the club's work so far and presented the ongoing actions: „We are pleased to announce that we have just financially completed our first Global grant project „Rotary for precision medicine“ in the amount of 40,000 euros in cooperation with the Rotary Club from Bari that will enable the procurement of equipment for the Centre for Biomedical Research of the Faculty of Medicine in Montenegro and specialization for one doctoral student in Italy.
The "Together to Paris 2024" campaign is underway, which we are implementing in partnership with the Montenegrin Olympic Committee with the aim of providing all sports associations in Montenegro with modern mobile equipment for the rehabilitation of athletes during participation in competitions.“
This event was also an occasion for the IPDG Nikola Božić to award past president of Rotary club of Kotor Janko Racković, the Paul Harris Fellow award. Also, the two new members of Rotary club of Kotor were given their Rotary pins. During the cruise the INCANTO band and DJ Tiffany performed as part of the musical program of the evening .
