Emre can now spend time in an upright position, meet other people at eye level and participate more fully in everyday life. The project’s most meaningful impact lies not in the moment when the wheelchair was presented, but in the difference it can make each day — supporting greater independence, comfort and social connection.

The Yeniden Göz Hizasında project — At Eye Level Again — brought together the Rotary Club of Kayseri in District 2430 and the Rotary Club of Ataşehir in District 2420.

Following a road traffic accident, 24-year-old Emre lives with paralysis from the neck down. The two clubs provided a specially adapted wheelchair that enables him to move safely into a fully upright position. The equipment is also designed to support circulation and respiratory function and to make some daily activities more manageable.

The wheelchair was presented at Kayseri City Hospital with the involvement of Emre’s medical team.

By combining their resources around one clearly identified need, the two Rotary clubs have created the possibility of meaningful change in one person’s everyday life. The immediate result is clear: Emre now has access to equipment suited to his needs. Its longer-term impact will emerge through continued use, appropriate medical guidance and the greater independence and connection it may make possible.
