In a moment rich with symbolism and generational continuity, the Rotary Club of Rhodes marked a historic milestone during the Official Visit of District Governor Charalampos Tinginagas.
The occasion served as the perfect backdrop to celebrate August as Rotary’s designated Membership and Extension Month, highlighting the deep-rooted family legacy that drives the organization forward.
Under the thematic banner, "The second generation of Rotarians in Rhodes: Five children of active members joined the Club," the induction ceremony formally welcomed five young professionals into the global Rotary family.
The new Rotarians presented in alphabetical order, are:
• Nikolaos Karavas (son of Stamatios)
• Ivana Moro Louizidi (daughter of Konstantinos)
• Michail Panormitis Economou (son of Nikolaos)
• Eftychia Papastamatiou (daughter of Stamatios)
• Ioannis Michail Pipinos (son of Ilias)
• Nikolaos Karavas (son of Stamatios)
• Ivana Moro Louizidi (daughter of Konstantinos)
• Michail Panormitis Economou (son of Nikolaos)
• Eftychia Papastamatiou (daughter of Stamatios)

All five are the children of active, long-standing Rotarians within the Rhodes Club. This event represents far more than a statistical increase in membership; it signifies a conscious, deliberate choice by the next generation to inherit and carry forward a proud family tradition of volunteerism, solidarity, and social responsibility.
The presence of these five young individuals establishes a vital bridge between generations. It provides tangible evidence that Rotary International’s core value of "Service Above Self" continues to resonate with and inspire the youth. By fostering this seamless transition of leadership, the Rotary Club of Rhodes and District 2475 are actively securing a powerful, sustainable legacy for the future of the region.
