Title : Rotarians : Those who keep their promises
Dear friends
All of us who decided to join the great organization of Rotary International did so because we believed in its vision which is none other than:
to create a world where people come together and take action to create lasting change, both locally and globally. Rotary International envisions a society where individuals come together, regardless of their differences, to use their skills, resources and expertise to make a positive impact. This vision highlights the importance of fostering goodwill, understanding and peace among people of all backgrounds and cultures.
Our Organization inspires us to take action, address critical issues and work to bring about CHANGE and HELP in order to build a better world by carrying out PROJECTS and providing SERVICES.
Rotary is a numerous international organization but that is not what characterizes it. What characterizes our Organization is that it is a Large Organization that has the ability to implement Large and sustainable projects.
In our long history we have proven that we can implement great projects, projects that Change our world, projects that are sustainable, projects that help many people and many communities around the world.
When we undertook to eradicate polio from the world many characterized our decision as wishful thinking or a utopia.
Wrong, because what for others is a utopia for Rotarians is a project and :
when they take it over
they will study it
they will organize it and
they will implement it
in other words they will make it a reality.
So what others considered a utopia today is a project that is 99.99% complete. We promised to eradicate the disease and carried out our decision.
But that's not all. Every year our Clubs implement a multitude of large and sustainable projects for the benefit of their communities, they offer dozens of scholarships and award peace scholarships to the most famous universities in the world.
All these actions and projects make our organization a GREAT ORGANIZATION.
But all this is possible ONLY because we have a strong ally which is none other than the Rotary Foundation, our foundation.
Without TRF, our organization would be just another organization like thousands of others around the world.
This is why we should maintain but above all strengthen our Foundation as much as possible.
ALL Rotarians should become supporters of The Rotary Foundation. Today, however, the situation is different. There is a (very large) number of Rotarians and Rotary Clubs the members of witch do not contribute any amount (No n-Giving Clubs and Non-Giving Rotarians) to the Rotary Foundation. This my dear friends must change!
We should all, each one according their financial means, become a supporter of the Rotary Foundation. There is no small or insignificant amount offered, all amounts are significant. Most importantly of all, everyone should contribute because everyone benefits in many ways.
A small amount every day from everyone in the end becomes a big one. In our Part of Zone (25B) we are significantly behind in supporting the Rotary Foundation. We can easily get out of this situation if we ALL respond by offering at least a single dollar a week.
Only with this action would we be able to significantly strengthen our Foundation and thus would enable us to implement much bigger and a lot more projects for the benefit of our communities and communities around the world.
Remember, The Rotary Foundation's support is not limited to individual financial contributions. Rotarians can combine their resources, talents, and networks to engage other non-Rotarians or businesses to make a difference and contribute to the Foundation's mission of promoting global understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, supporting education and alleviating poverty.
My dear friends, it is time to start a more effective cooperation with our Foundation. It is time to make our foundation a priority and invest in it. In this way, we will continue to be the ones who, when we GIVE a promise, we ALWAYS keep it.
