Cemre Başkır is a Turkish lawyer and Rotaract leader whose interests in international relations, law and cross-border cooperation began well before her current leadership roles.
A graduate of the Faculty of Law at Başkent University in Ankara, Cemre was already active in international affairs as a student, serving for two years as President of the university’s Model United Nations community. That early experience reflected an interest in diplomacy, the United Nations, the European Union and the way dialogue can bring different perspectives together.
Her professional career is in law. Her work has included areas connected with corporate and commercial practice, while her interest in sustainability and competition law is reflected in a 2023 article she co-authored for EY Türkiye, examining how sustainability agreements interact with European competition rules.
Cemre has been a member of the Rotaract Club of Ankara-Tandoğan, District 2430, since 2016. In 2025–26, she serves as District Rotaract Representative, representing and connecting Rotaract clubs across the district. Her leadership has also included cooperation beyond District 2430, with Rotaract leaders from Türkiye’s neighbouring Districts 2420 and 2440 on joint initiatives and activities.
Her Rotary engagement extends internationally as well. Cemre is involved in the Rotary Intercountry Committees network, adding another dimension to her interest in connections across countries and cultures.
Across law and Rotaract, a common thread runs through her journey: bringing people together, understanding different perspectives and turning participation into meaningful cooperation.
