ERDEN GÖKMEN
Born in Ankara in 1964, Erden Gökmen began his education at TED Ankara College, graduating in 1981. He successfully graduated from Ankara University's Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1983 and from Anadolu University's Department of Economics in 1988.
Gökmen began his professional career working in the Pyrometer Department at Teknim Elektronik San. Ltd. Şti. between 1983 and 1988. Before completing his military service in 1988, he worked briefly at Biltek Bilişim Teknolojileri A.Ş. Between 1989 and 1990, he worked at NCR-Intermat Ltd. Şti., and between 1990 and 1991 at Honeywell Bull. From 1991 to 1994, he worked at MESİ Medical Systems, and from 1995 to 1997, he served as a service engineer at Philips Medical Systems A.Ş. Between 1998 and 2006, he continued his career as the Ankara Regional Service Manager for Philips Medical Systems; from 2006 to 2015, he held the position of Service Sales Manager for Eastern Europe, the Turkic Republics, and Turkey. After retiring from Philips in November 2015, he became a founding partner of Buy Buddy A.Ş. in the same year and serves as the company's COO together with his son, Ersel.
Erden Gökmen has been married to Selda Gökmen for 36 years and is the father of Ersel.
ROTARACT CAREER
He began his Rotaract journey in 1983-84 as a founding member and board member of the 243rd District Ankara Kocatepe Rotaract Club, the second Rotaract club in Türkiye. He married Selda, also a member of the same club, in 1988. He served as the president of the Kocatepe Rotaract Club in 1990-91.
Due to the age limit of 30 in effect at the time, his Rotaract membership ended at the end of the 1994-1995 term.
The Ankara Kocatepe Rotaract Club is still actively operating.
ROTARY PERIOD
He entered the Rotary world in 1997-98 as a founding member and treasurer of the 2430th District Ankara Yenişehir Rotary Club.
He served as the President of the 2430th District Ankara Yenişehir Rotary Club in 2002-2003.
In 2006-2007, he moved to Istanbul for work and transferred his Rotary membership to the 2420th District Istanbul Ataşehir Rotary Club.
He served as the club secretary in 2010-11,
and as the club president in 2011-12. He served as the club treasurer in the 2018-19 period,
As the Asst. Governor of Group 8 in the 2019-20 period,
As the Asst. Governor of Group 3B and Member of the Foundation Board of Directors in the 2022-23 period.
In 2023, he served on the Rotary Planning Committee of Districts 2420-2430-2440.
In the 2023-24-25 periods, he assumed the duties of the Chair of the District 2420 Strategic Planning, Bylaws Monitoring and Support Committee and the Chair of the Ataşehir Club Membership Committee.
